Help with other plugins 10 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
First off, let me congratulate on a very nice plug-in. I do have a question though.
I understand that I can exclude articles by typing the article number in the list but I have recently installed a calendar module on my site which allows me to add events. This has it's own database which is not linked to normal Joomla articles but on each event added to the calendar, my article footer appears at the bottom of each event.

It is not possible for me to exclude these in the normal fashion. Do you have any suggestions.

P.S. I cannot turn on "only display on article only" as I am using your plug-in in a category blog view.

regards,
JJ.

Which is the calendar module you are using? If it is open-source, I'll download and install on my test site and see if I can provide a solution.

Hi, it is an opensource extension called Jevents. you can find it Here
Once installed, you need to add yourself as a user in the control panel and then add an event. When you view it from the front end, you will see the article footer in the details of the event.

Regards,
John.

I assume you were not able to find a fix for this problem?

I must apologise... it completely slipped my mind.

I have JEvents installed on my test site, so will look into it first thing tomorrow.

I've just had a quick play with it - I can't replicate the issue. I've set a footer, and it has no exclusions (will be displayed in all views), but when I look at an event in JEvents, I don't see a footer.

My test site is here: test.cedit.biz/

Is there anything else you configured so that I can try and replicate the issue?

Hi,
No, I haven't configured anything else but my footer says "Please click here if you wish to apply for this dog" which is obviously on the rehoming section but if you look at the event on my site, you will see what I mean.

You can see it here

Which version of JEvents are you using? Looking at the source of both pages (my test page and your site), the code generated by JEvents is different - I'm not sure why this would be?

I am using JEvents 1.5.2. A newer version is available but only to club members, of which, I am not.

Then it is the same version on both sites, which makes it even stranger. I could create a debug version of Article Footer to try and find out what is going on, as it seems to be specific to your site. I have just had another play with JEvents settings, but still can't get the footer to show.

Is there any chance you'd be able to either set up a test site that is a copy of yours, or take a backup of the site for me to set up as a test site (removing any user-accounts or anything else, of course)? I'm not sure how to progress this without being able to replicate the issue.

I have created a test site and installed the components again. All seems to be working fine so it must be something else. I will continue to look into it.

Thanks for the help. I will let you know if I resolve it.
