TOPIC: Trial 1.5.0 don't work.

Trial 1.5.0 don't work. 2 years, 9 months ago #274

Hi Dave,

i have installed the trial 1.5.0, but i don't see the Rules Manager menu in the Outlook's 'tools'/'action' menu. Furthemore the create rule button don't save the rules. I use Outlook 2007 on Windows Xp (Localization ITA).
Best Regard.

Hi,

If you have the Rules Manager toolbar (which you must have if you have the create rule button) then it has installed ok. There should also be a Rules Manager menu - it isn't on the Tools menu, but an extra menu between Tools and Actions - does it appear there?

I had another report about an issue with the rules saving - this was also with Outlook 2007. It seems to only happen on new installs. I am looking into this and will post an update within 24 hours. I'll upload an updated version and post back here once done.

I have uploaded v1.5.2, which has been tested on Vista using Outlook 2007, clean install.

The Create Rule... button will only work if you have an email selected, as it takes details from this email. I have changed this in the latest version such that if no email is selected, a blank Add Rule window is shown. If it is not possible to add a rule from the given location, a warning is given. I couldn't find anything wrong with this (i.e. it did work so long as a message was selected), but changed it for clarity/completeness.

A couple of minor bugs have been fixed.

Version 1.8.3 finally fixes the issue with foreign language OS (on which Rules Manager simply wouldn't work, as it couldn't create any rules).
