Hi, love your program. The only thing it's missing from my perspective is the ability to connect to SSL-encrypted POP3 servers, eg GMAIL.

Due to the complexity of this it may not make it into POP Collector. The problem being that without .Net I'd have to write the entire SSL infrastructure, which is very time-consuming. I may reconsider this, but not in the short-term.

This facility will be in emerSMTP when it is released - though unfortunately this won't be available as freeware.

I would pay for this future , but hey thats just me .

The timescale for emerSMTP is a little hazy right now, unfortunately. I've just had a look at where I'd got up to with it (I haven't had a chance to look at it for months), and the POP and SMTP functionality is there, and it runs natively as a service, but there is still a fair bit to do. I may release a beta fairly shortly after I get back to it.

At the moment I am developing the next version of Rules Manager (as well as being involved in several web projects), so time to get back to emerSMTP is still a fair way off. Hopefully this year though!

Thanks to a pointer from someone, I have finally implemented SSL support in POP Collector, and it is available in 1.4.3. SSL support is possible by the use of STunnel.
