DIdnt really find a better place to post this message but
Some people get confused and they join my site with a username
which is actually an EMAIL ADDRESS

they also use their correct email address to register

well id like to do two things here

1) Keep their email info private as im sure theyd like that
2) Block anyone ( or simply show them the info about the error ) who is trying to register using an email address or even an @ symbol when they register

the other reason for getting this to work in this way is
i am using JOMSOCIAL component
and if you try to view someones profile who has @ as a username
they site will kick out its common 500 error as if the page or link doesnt work

In the validator plugin settings i have applied
@
*@
@*
*@*

Under the BLOCKED USERNAMES area
but that didnt work.
i was able to log out and begin registration with that symbol

Could you confirm which version of RV you are using please? There was an issue with the username blocking in version prior to 2.1.0, so I'm wondering if this may be the issue.

If it isn't (i.e. you are using 2.1.0 or later) then I will run some tests and see if I can determine the issue.

A quick test on my test site using *@* as the blocked username does prevent you being able to use an @ in the username. That is using 2.1.2 (which isn't actually available yet, but 2.1.1 has the same username blocking code). Please could you install 2.1.1 and test again?

Thanks for the list - I apologise, but the posting of the list kicked of the forum spam protection (clearly at least one of those domains is blocked by LinkSleeve!). I have re-enabled your account and I do have the list (I get a copy of blocked postings) so I will add any domains to RV2 for the next release.

Incidentally, a lot of the disposable domain on the list (haven't had a proper look, just a glance over) are already included in the internal RV list - I haven't included spam domains in this list, as I rely on the third parties to have these details.
