Great PlugIn! I have articles that need to have a copyright at the end of each one and this plugin works great when displaying the article, however it is not applied when I create a PDF of the document.

Any suggestions on how to have this plugin activate when to displaying/creating a PDF?

Thanks

I think this will be possible by adding the footer to the content - at the moment the plugin works by simply displaying the footer after the content (and not affecting the document data within Joomla! at all).

I think I had a request for this before, and it completely slipped my mind. I'll look into this later as it should be a quick update. I'll try and get an updated release out within a couple of days.

Thanks!

I found a link that talks about executing a plugin prior to creating a pdf - it worked on another plugin I have but not this one. If it helps: Activating a Plugin for PDF

Hi - did you have a chance to see if this would be possible?

Thanks

While I haven't tested the pdf side, I have just uploaded 1.1.3 which adds the option to have the footer appended to the text of the article (as opposed to being displayed after the article, which is what previous versions do).

This means that in theory I think the footer should be picked up by the pdf generator, as it is essentially part of the article.

Please let me know how it goes!

Hey! Perfect - great fix.

It does require a fix to force the plugins to activate before the PDF is generated. The setting of "Add Footer to Article" is requried.

The link I posted above did not work so here is the link again.
www.kksou.com/php-gtk2/Joomla/How-to-hav...for-Joomla-1.0.x.php

This patch is required in order for the plugin to be applied.

Thanks again for the great extension.

I found a link showing the core hacks required to get the footer into the pdf. I did have a go at doing this without needing a hack, but haven't got very far, and to be honest am not sure it is possible.

Glad that this extension now works with the given hack though.

OK - got a small "bug"

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$id in C:\wamp\www\His Words\plugins\content\cedit_articlefooter.php on line 42

This appears on my "Contact" page, one that list the contacts for the site and their number, etc.

I have "Only display footer in article view", "Add footer to article", and "Exclude footer from uncategorised articles" all set to Yes.

Keep in mind I am testing the site on a local WAMPServer: PHP 5.2.9-2

Will have it live in about a week.

and this appears in several other places also.

I will check, but as it is a Notice, it can be safely ignored. PHP should only be configured to display notices during development, so assuming this will be turned off on the live site you will not see the messages.

However, I will check and amend so that the notices also don't occur.

Please try the attached - it should prevent any notices from showing. If you can confirm either way, I'll release it once problem is resolved.
